Reborn in Baptism

Congratulations and best wishes toElizabeth Therese Krodel, child ofMatthew Krodel and Emily (Barrick) KrodelandHenry Michael Stewart, child ofJustin Stewart and Kristin (Smith) Stewart;who celebrated their baptism into the community of faith. May they continue to grow in wisdom, age, and grace.

So Be Imitators of God, As Beloved Children, and Live in Love- The call of Saint Paul in his letter to the Ephesians to "be imitators of God" gives us pause to ponder what we expect of God and what we should expect of ourselves and others. Don't we expect God to be patient, compassionate, loving, merciful and wise? Don't we trust that God will provide for our needs, bestow peace in our hearts and be a source of courage and strength? Saint Paul, then, urges that our lives reflect these virtues and more so that others will know that God is alive in the world. The context of this responsibility of faith is that we do it as beloved children of God, as beloved sisters and brothers. While family life is not always easy or without its challenges, the family is the most fundamental structure of love and support in our world. We seek to reflect the love of God as husbands and wives, parents and children, aunts and uncles. And as a family of faith this love must flow through us for others as we build up the Kingdom of God. May our effortsOn Mission for The Church Alive!inspire us to live in love as a sisters and brothers in God our Father. Visitonmissionchurchalive.orgto learn more and to stay informed.
