Celebrating Lent at Holy Wisdom Parish

Lent in a very special way points out that we are pilgrims. The penance, fasting, and almsgiving are our companions on the journey to the glory of Easter. 

STATIONS OF THE CROSS

Stations of the Cross will be celebrated each Friday at  7:00 PM at St. Boniface Church. Plan to attend this praiseworthy Lenten devotion.

SACRAMENT OF RECONCILIATION

The Sacrament of Reconciliation will be offered from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM on Saturday, April 13, 2019 at St. Boniface Church.

MASS AND ANOINTING OF THE SICK

Mass and Anointing of the Sick will be celebrated on Saturday, April 13, 2019 at 2:00 PM in St. Boniface Church.

LENTEN SCRIPTURE SERIES

A Lenten Series will be offered on Sundays, March 10, 17, 24, 31 and April 7, 2019  from 10:30  AM to 11:30 AM in the Archives Room under St. Boniface Church. The series will feature the Very Reverend Lawrence A. DiNardo, VG, JCL,.  All are welcome. Admission is free.

LENTEN DEVOTIONAL MATERIALS

Lenten devotional materials are available in the back of  church as well as the library of the Administrative Center. Plan to read these publications for your spiritual growth.

 

Celebrating Twenty-Five Years

Our Parish will be celebrating the completion of twenty-five years  as a parish family. We would like to announce that Bishop  David Zubik will be the celebrant and homilist  for the Mass to commemorate the 25th Anniversary of Holy Wisdom Parish at 9:30 AM on Sunday,May 19, 2019,at St. Boniface Church.

 

Sacrament of Confirmation

Holy Wisdom Parish has been informed by the Diocese of Pittsburgh that the Sacrament of Confirmation will be celebrated on Monday, May 13, 2019at 7:00 PM at St. Boniface Church with Bishop  William J. Winter. 

 

Holy Wisdom Parish Sacramental Preparation

All candidates who wish to participate in the parish celebration of First Eucharist onSunday, May 5, 2019at the 9:30 AM liturgy at St. Boniface Church should notify the Administrative Center in writing as soon as possible.

CATECHETICAL PREPARATION FOR ALL HOLY WISDOM PARISH CANDIDATES  (FROM BOTH CATHOLIC AND PUBLIC SCHOOLS)  FOR FIRST RECONCILIATION AND EUCHARIST  FIRST RECONCILIATION

Instruction Session for Candidates on Sunday, March 10, 2019 from 12:00 Noon to 1:30 PM at Our Lady, Queen of Peace Church.

Meeting for Parents and Guardians will be held on Sunday, March 10, 2019  at 12:00 Noon at Our Lady, Queen of Peace Church. One adult for each candidate must be present.

Celebration of the Sacrament on Wednesday, April 10, 2019 celebrated during the Diocesan The Light is on for Youprogram from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at Saint Peter Church, 720 Arch Street, North Side.

 

FIRST EUCHARIST

Retreat will be held onSaturday, April 13, 2019 from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM at Our Lady, Queen of Peace Church Hall.

Meeting for Parents and Guardians will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2019 also at 10:00 AM at Our Lady, Queen of Peace Church. One adult for each candidate must be present.

Rehearsal for Candidates and Parents on Thursday, May 2, 2019 at 7:00 PM in St. Boniface Church, North Side.
